me two earnest Calverts, John and son George were both Captains in the Revolution. They owned over 1900 acres of land in the Town of Washington and the upper valley of the Battle Run. A factual report on the Calverts, all direct descendants of Lord Calvert of Baltimore, will appear in the Annual Report which is in preparation now. Studies have been laid out for several other a r e a s of research to begin this year. The Society wants to collect as much information as is available on Industry and Commerce in the County. This will demand information about the more than 60 mills around which much commerce developed. It will also require knowledge of the development of the early road system, and the means of communication.
