Three Shenandoah National Park employees were presented United States Department of the Interior Lengthof-Service emblems by Superintendent R. Taylor Hoskins at a recent staff meeting. A 20-year award was made to Donald M. Black, Assistant Park Naturalist, and 10-year emblems were given to Mrs. Miriam B. Reeve, Secretary to the Chief Ranger, and Richard E. Batman, Signmaker. Naturalist Black’k service, in addition to military service with the U. S. Army, includes Park Ranger duties at Yellowstone National Park, Carlsbad Caverns National Park, and Grand Canyon National Park, as well as Park Naturalist duties beginning in 1956 at Hawaii National Park, at Natchez Trace Parkway, and then since 1963, at ShenandoahNational Park. Mr. and Mrs. Black reside at Park Headquarters Residential Area.
