Amissville Fire Company and Ladies Auxiliary completed their annual fund raising carnival Saturday night after experiencing four nights of reasonably good weather which brought out good attendance for the event. A figure bn gross receipts is not yet available.
A large gallery viewed the fire works Wednesday evening as the carnival got underway. An afternoon thunder storm began in the afternoon Thursday and was over just in time for the parade set for 6:30 to move on schedule. Friday evening Miss Ann Holmes of Amissville was crowned queen of festivities by last year’s queen Miss Brenda H a c k 1 e y. Runners up w e r e Misses Sharon Suter, Virginia Bailey and Aletta Beebe. Miss Holmes will act as honorary fire chief of Amissville until the next carnival season. Climaxing activities was the awarding of prizes Saturday night.
