Fun Fair Aug. 26-27
A Fun Fair has been scheduled for Friday and-Saturday, August 26 and 27 at Sperryville Carnival grounds. This will include rides, games prizes and amusements for everyone. An assortment of food will be available at th« food stand. Prizes to be given away include five dollars in cash, an old Virginia ham, electric coffee maker and an electric percolator. The Fun Fair is sponsored by the Sperryville Fire Department, since their annual carnival was rained out one night. Ruritan Club; best comic, Bridges Clowns; best commercial, Lom-Bar-Dy Tea Room; best appearing Ladies Auxiliary, Gainesville. Ralph H. Rowzie, president of the Amissville Fire Department, said the carnival went well and attributed its success to the good attendance of the public, the willingness of workers and contributors, and expressed appreciation to all for their ready assistance and attendance.
