A " .*?, On July 26, 29 boys andj left Winchester, Va. headed for'Philmont Scout Ranch Cifir marron, New Mexico. We were accompanied by three adult leaders. •. j/; We spent the first night of our twenty-one day trip at The Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Fairborn, Ohio whlcfris located thirteen miles east of Dayton, Ohio. We visited the Air Force Museum while stay lng at Wright-Patterson Base Our travels the first day Included the states of Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Pen nsylvania and Ohio. The second day we travelled across Indiana and Illinois and spent the night east of St. Louis at Belleville Air Force Station. The next day we went through Missouri and Kansas stopping at St. Louis, Kansas City and Topeka, Kansas. That day we saw The Gateway,,to the West, the stadiums of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kansas City Atheletics and the capitol of Kansas. We spent the night at Fort Riley, Kansas The following day we travelled] through the flatlands of Kansas and Eastern Colorado stopping in La Junta, Colo, to spend the night at Koshare Indian Kiva. While staying at the Kiva we we attended a performance of the world-famed Koshare Indian Dancers. On Sunday, July 10, we attended church services in La Junta. After services, we continued our trip by travelling through Colorado and at 12:00, we arrived at our destination.Philmont Scout Ranch! After lunch we were introduced to the rangers that would accompany us along two I days of our twelve day journey.! Next we packed our equip-!
