Seaman Paul L. Miller Jr., USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul L. Miller, Sr. of Flint Hill, Is In the Mediterranean aboard the Sixth Fleet submarine rescue vessel, USS Klttiwake. For the next four months, Klttiwake will operate in the 'Med* and North Atlantic, supporting the Sixth Fleet and Eastern Atlantic submarine forces. As a submarine rescue vessel, the Klttiwake carries an 11-ton McCann rescue chamber. This device can remove eight submariners at one time from submarines disabled at depths up to 850 feet. The chamber is supplied with air, light and communications from the Klttiwake through a series of cables and hoses. When her deployment is com pleted, the ship will return to her homeport at Norfolk, Va.
