Jn Traffic Crashes
Two single vehicle crashes occurred in Rappahannock dus ing the weekend with no serious injuries but property damage running high. Henry Branch Johnson III of Manassas, who is a student at Virginia Military Institute, lost control of his vehicle when attempting to pass another car on Route 211 a mile east of Sperryville. According to Trooper W. A. Buntin who witnessed the crash, the 66 Corvette operated by Johnson went out of control, skidded sideways a great distance and overturned several times. The vehicle was declared a total loss. Johnson r ece ive d lacerations of the head and slight neck injury. John Richard Siegel of Whitehurst, Va., a passenger in the Corvette, was not visibly injured but ' both young men were taken to Cul'peper Memorial Hospital where they were treated and released. Rappahannock Rescue Squad took them to the hospital. . Johnson will be charged with reckless driving, said the officer.
Kenneth Wayne Bean of Vint Hill Farms Station, Warrenton sustained lacerations of the right arm and bruised shoulder in a crash Saturday on Route 211 four miles east of Washington, Va. Bean was unable to maintain control of his 67 Comet as he rounded a curve and ran off the right of the road. Trooper J. B. Willis investigated the crash. Bean was charged with reckless driving.
