The annual Boy Scout “Enrollment" will be held In Rappahannock County during Boy Scout Week, Feb. 7 through 13, according to the local chairman, John G. Cargill, Jr. The council budget of $60,700 is used for office and administrative expenses, teaching and training aids for volunteer leaders, and camp maintenance. The United Campaign Fund contributes approximate ly one-half of the total budget. The balance has to be raised from the individual counties and cities within the Council. Rappahannock County’s fair share according to population and income averages is $1600. One of the unique features of this enrollment is that women as well as men can “join* the Boy Scouts during this period. All it takes is a donation. The amount is left to your own judgment. However, please remember $1600 must be raised so that Scouting can continue. In Rappahannock there are 69 boys participating in the three Boy Scout Troops and one Cub Scout Pack. The newly formed Troop 50 in Amissville has 17 boys as members and the Rev. Charles Kindred Is the Scoutmaster. Sperryville's Troop 65 has 14 active boys and John Wayland is Scoutmaster.
