HEART MONTH Diseases of the heart and blood i vessels take the lives each year of j more of our citizens than all other t causes of death combined, including) accidents. These diseases are responsible for widespread suffering and disability! and create serious economic hardship for the individual, his family, business and industry in Virginia. Medical science appears on the, verge of major accomplishments to further control heart and blood vessel diseases, and the Heart Fund Campaign of Virginia Heart Association and its local subdivisions, affiliated with American Heart Association, provide opportunities for citizen participation in the assault against this Number One Killer. As Governor of Virginia, I call public attention to the observance of the month of February as Heart Month, and urge all citizens to support the 1967 Heart Fund Campaign with the full »reasure of their generosity, through contributions and volunteer service.
