For those of you who have switched to permanent press slacks, etc. for your husbands and children’s wear you may have wondered what the term ''frosting* means - Creases in durable press garments’ are so sharp that there is little •give* during wear and laundering. For this reason, the dye at crease areas and seams may start to lighten or fade during wear. This results in the 'frosting* and is especially noticeable with darker colors. If in washing you turn the trousers and darker garments wrong side out, you can help prevent frosting.
