years. Summer camping is an integral part of scouting and Camp Rock Enon at Gore, Va. which is attended by local scouts, is one of the three top ranking scout camps east of the Mississippi. According to council leaders, Scouts from Rappahannock have shown great ability as compared to others in the council In September of 66,^ an extensive reorganizing and revitalizing of the Scouting pro gram took place. Troop #64 of Washington with T. C. Lea as Scoutmaster and J, Newbill Miller, assisting, has 22 active members. A new Troop was organized in the Amissville area with the Rev. Charles Kindred as Scoutmaster having 19 members. The Sperryville troop #65 was completely reorganized with leaders being John Wayland, Scout master and the Rev. William Harrison assisting. This troop has 14 members. A Cub Scout Pack is now operating in Rappa hannock County with Paul Nich ols acting Cubmaster.
Other adults active in Scout ing are Judge R. V. Snead who is vice president of the Shenandoah Area Council; T. C. Lea, member of the council Executive Board; the Rev. B. G. Titchenell, AssistantDistrict Commissioner of the Council. Through scouting the young generation of the world is brought into close harmony and enables them to understand other nations, promotes good will and friendship through international con ferences and rallies.
