A group of blind children from the metropolitan area experienced a day in the country Saturday when they were entertained at Glen Eyrie, the farm of Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Miko and at Mountain Green the farm of Mrs. Marietta Cheatham in Rappahannock County near Washington, Va. This is the second time these ^youngsters have visited here %under the sponsorship of the Downtown Chapter of the Jay cees of Washington, D. C. The Downtown Jaycees with the cooperation of the Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind arrange transportation and a day of activities for these handicapped children. Many hours of planning and the assistance of numerous individuals and establishments is needed to execute the event. Attending the outing were about 45 blind children assist ed by Jaycee members and their families and personnel from the U. S. Marine Corps stationed at Henderson Hall. Sen. and Mr6. Kuchel were present to see the group off from Washington. He is the senior senator from California and she is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Columbia Lighthouse.
