Silo Guard is not so additive as urea. Many of you farmers will be starting to fill your silos soon, in the next week or so, with corn silage, SILO GUARD IS A FERMENTATION CONTROL PROCESS, not poisonous to animals or humans. Urea is a versatile, high nitrogen, synthetic compound. It is an excellent and Inexpensive source of protein for beef and dairy cattle, but It must be handled with care. Manitoba Province Nutritionist, J. C. Brown, says that an overdose of urea In a ration or poor mixing can result in sick and even dead animals. (Reprinted from Holstein Friesian journal). Ureafad cows will milk very heavily for three or four months. Then we find a metabolic breakdown whlchwlll introduce an increase In cAses of Acetonemia and lower the daily resistance of the animal body. Silo Guard does not have to be handled with care.
