Ken Guenter, transported the group to Rappahannock. They arrived shortly before noon at the Miko farm where braziers were in readiness for barbecuing hot dogs and hamburgers. orangeade bubbled in a dispenser and picnic tables awaited the hungry guests. It would be difficult to estimate the quantities of meats, drinks, potato chips, cookies and ice cream consumed by the more than 75 present.
Wagons piled with hay and pulled by tractors took the children around Glen Eyrie on hay rides and ponies also afforded rides for them. All boys in the group were given base ball caps and the young ladies received necklaces as a gift, and there were balloons for everyone. Highlighting the day was the arrival of Capt.
