Sept. 4 Amissvilie H. D. Club meets at the Baptist Church at 7:30 p.m. for their monthly meeting. Sept. 5th Woodville H. D. Club will meet with Miss Nellie Johnson at 7:30 p.m.
Another big weekend of the year, Labor Day weekend, is ahead of us. If your family is planning the final big outing for the year, I hope that you will make it a safe one, not only for yours, but for everyone else who may be around. The reads will be even more crowded than they have in the past and I hope that everyone will lake time to remember that “Cou rtes> is Contagious” everywhere, even on the highway.
*** . Children are back in school now and it’s time we again become aware of conditions in the home which may affect their study habits. We should take great effort to provide them with proper lighting and a good quiet study area. Lights should be soft, covered with a good shade, and if at all possible, have a diffusing dish to eliminate direct glare. Glare! coming from an uncovered bulb will probably cause eye; strain, which, if allowed to continue, could cause perm^ nent eve damage. A child will also j*et tired and will lose interest in reading material more quickly, if an uncovered bulb is the only source of light.
