New Teachers Feted
With Banquet Friday
About 65 Rappahannock teach ers and their spouses attended a banquet Friday evening at the camp of Mr. and Mrs. John Habel near Bentonville. Under the auspices of the Rappahannock Teachers Association, Mrs. Lucia Kilby, President, the new teachers were welcomed and entertained. A delicious chicken dinner was served in the attractive setting overlooking the river. Mrs. Lucio Kilby, in charge of entertainment, fulfilled her assignment in great style. In addition to an intriguing word game music was enjoyed by a Hillbilly band comprised of Miss Younger, Mrs. McGarity ^ and Mrs. Lucio Kilby, assisted by Miss Kay Johnston. An entertaining skit was presented by Mr. and Mrs. Ray Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Nichols and Mr. Patterson Biggs. On a high note of amusement Mrs. Kilby composed an imagi nary write-up of the occasion for the Rappahannock News leaving out all adjectives, which were supplied by the assembled group, alphabetically. The result was droll. All those present deemed it a happy and rewarding event.
