Lewis James Atkins

Lewis James Atkins, 35, of Vyashington, Virginia died Saturday, September 9, 1967 at the Winchester Memorial Hospital after a long period of declining health. He was the son of Oliver James Atkins of Washington and the late Mrs. Nina Virginia Atkins. Besides his father he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lula Foster Atkins and four children, who are Lewis J. Atkins, Jr., Steven M., Wayne Allen and Michael C. Atkins. Also a sister, Mrs. Cleveland Menefee and a brother, Vincent Atkins of Sperryville, Va. A funeral service was conducted on Tuesday, September 12th at 2:00 o’clock from j the Washington Baptist Church with interment in the Washington Masonic Cemetery. Those serving as the pallbearers were Hubbard Smoot John Burke, Jack DeBergh, Robert Pullen, Clarence Baldwin and C. E. Giles. The Geest Funeral Parlors had charge of the arrangements.
