Sue Haggerty in
Vermont Trail Ride
Miss Sue Haggerty of Sperry ville participated in a one hundred mile trail ride in Woodstock, Vt. recently and placed fourth in the lightweight division. She is the riding instructor at Roundabout Camp near Sperryville which she and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. h. J. Haggerty, operate. About fifty riders were entered in the event which ran for three days.
The entries covered 40 m iles each of the first two days and 20 miles the last day of the ride. Time was a factor in the competition with a half hour leeway before penalty was imposed. The first day of the ride was made in a steady day-long downpour of rain.
Miss Haggerty also won the challenge trophy for the best non-registered horse (he rode Ajax) and the stable award foi the neatest, most attractive stall. She was accompanied to Vermont by Miss Jeanne Biddle of Sperryville.
