Don’t let frost get that last cutting of Sudan. Remember frosted Sudan can be poisonous.
Fall Feeder Calf Sales get underway the last week of this month: Orange on the 26th at 1, Charlottesville the 27th at 1, also the Madison Mills Charolais at 7 p.m. Rappahannock Angus will be at 2 p.m. on October 17 at, Front Royal. The Herd Inspection Committee reports calves to be much better and heavier than a year ago. Good to see many of our farmers are holding off with corn silage harvest. Remember TDN can double in a week or ten days at no extra cost, if you wait till the hard dough stage of maturity. Let that shuck turn brown as well as the lower leaves. Tours of the Madison and Culpeper Watershed Development Projects are scheduled for next Tuesday - Sept. 19. Contact this office or Lee Thornton at the Co-op for details. Should be most interesting.
