Wrecks During Week
A rash of traffic crashes has occurred since last reporting, though none have resulted in serious injury
On July 4, at 3:30 a.m. on Route 522, 2 miles west of Boston two vehicles became involved in a collision. Jackie Rogers of leon operating a 60 Chevrolet owned by Tylitha Banks, also of leon, was struck by a 63 Ford owned and operated by Beauford White of Orange.
According to Trooper W A. Buntin, White attempted to pass Rogers and cut back in striking the Rogers car in the side. There were no injuries and damage was estimated at $150 to Rogers and $300 to White. White was charged with reckless driving.
David Allen Jenkins of Luray and Joan lee of Flint Mill collided on a curve on Route 600 above Old Hollow Sunday. Jenkins, operating a 55 Ford, rounded a curve, veered into the left lane and struck the lee vehicle head on. Miss lee was driving a 64 Ford owned by Oerald Spence, Flint Mill.
Mrs. Katherine lee was taken by auto to Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal where she was treated for a fractured left collar bone and released. Damage to the lee car was set at $600 and to the Jenkins car at $500.
Jenkins was charged with reck less driving by Trooper Buntin who investigated the crash Two vehicles collided on Route 211 in front of Flmer’s Phillips 66 Service station in Sperryville last 'I'uesday, July 2 A 1967 Chevrolet panel bus operated by Lydia A. Stoltz fus of Churchtown, Pa. made a left turn in front of an oncoming 66 Plymouth and the vehicles crashed The Plymouth was owned and operated by Joe Nathan Pepper of Roanoke Rapids, N.C. According to Trooper J. B. Willis, Mrs. Stoltzfus sustained lacerations of the right hand and Marjorie M. Morgan, a passenger in the Pepper car, had lacerations of the head Margaret Gayle
