Damage to the vehicles was set at $1,000 to the bus and $500 to the Plymouth. Mrs. Stoltzfus was charged with reckless driving.
A single vehicle crash occurred July 5 at the Thornton River just east of Sperryville on Route 211. Lorraine Flynn Osborne of St. Petersburg, Fla. operating a 66 Ford Falcon lost control of the car, went off the right of the highway and spun around backwards down a small embankment. There were no injuries and Mrs. Osborne was charged with reckless driving, said Trooper Willis.
Two cars collided on Route 618 near Castleton Sunday. Floyd Daniel Hitt of Amissville operating a 67 Chevelle owned by his mother Mrs. Lucy Smith Hitt, veered into the left lane of the road and struct a 62 Buick driven by Ralph Douglas Eddy of Silver Spring, Md. Hitt was charged with reckless driving.
Eddy sustained lacerations of the left hand and Denise Lee Gill of Rockville, Md. had abrasions of the leg and lacerated eye, according to Trooper Willis who investigated.
Richard Harold Haines of Amissville sustained an eye injury in a single-vehicle crash on Route 613, the Waterloo Road, east of Amissville in Culpeper County Saturday night. His 60 Chevrolet sedan was a total loss when he ran off the road and struck a tree. He was charged with reckless driving and failing to report a personal injury accident by Trooper R. W. Mitchell.
