State and county auto license tags will go on sale Saturday, March 15 in Rappahannock County.
State license tags are sold at the Sperryville Corner Store, Sperryville with Wilson Burke as agent. Hours for purchasing tags are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. until 12 noon Saturdays.
Mr. Burke reminds everyone to have the registration card filled out to avoid delay in getting tags. If you tiave not received a card, you may get an application card from him. He also says there is ample parking room at the rear of the store.
Rappahannock County tags are sold at the office of County Treasurer Robert L. Brown, Washington, Va. Hours for the purchase of county tags will be 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays and 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m' Saturdays.
Personal property taxes must be paid and registration card stamped and personal property for 1969 declared, all done in the office of Mrs. Robert Spalding, Commissioner of the Revenue, in the courthouse building, prior to securing tags.

O’Bannon Elected
To Phi Beta Kappa
John M. O’Bannon, III, of Woodville «has been elected to membership in Phi Beta Kappa national scholarship fraternity at the University of Richmond. The announcement was made by Dr. C. J. Gray, dean of administrative services at the University of Richmond and secretary of the fraternity’s Epsilon chapter of Virginia. O’Bannon was one of 52 University of Richmond students who will be initiated into the fraternity in services March 20 in Richmond. O’Bannon is a member of Beta Beta Beta honorary biology fraternity and Gamma Sigma Epsilon honorary chemistry fraternity. O’Bannon received Intermediate Honors for scholarship and is a Dean’s List student. He was the historian for Phi Delta Theta social fraternity for the 1967-68 session. O’Bannon concentrated in biology and plans to attend Virginia Commonwealth University’s Medical School (formerly called The Medical College of Virginia). He hopes to eventually specialize in neurosurgery and set up practice in Richmond. O’Bannon is a graduate of Hargrave Military Academy, Chatham. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. O’Bannon, II, of Woodville.
