The average married person gets about 7.6 hours of sleep a night, in addition to 20 minutes of rest during the day. Sleeping time goes up an hour on Sunday for men and employed women but stays about the same for housewives.

The net finding is that the average housewife has only an hour more free time per day than her husband.
