II" “And he (Christ) is the head of the body, the church...” (Col. 1:18) From the Biblical point of view (which is the correct one) the church is not merely a social institution. It is a living organism of which Christ is the head. Neither is the church a denominational group or the church building. In fact, any group of Christian believers assembled together constitutes a church in the Bible sense.
Yet the church in the general sense refers to that entire body of believers in Christ who have been or will be joined to Him by faith. Some day that roll will be completed and the Lord will gather up from the earth all that are true members.
Let everyone judge himself as to whether he is a member of that body of which Christ is the head.
