Cox
Benjamin Robert Cox of Washington, Va. died March 9, 1969 at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. George H. Davis, Jr. at Washington. He was 74. In addition to his daughter, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jessie Harris Cox of Washington.
Other survivors include five j sisters, Mrs. M. T. Barnes, Mrs. Daniel Eaton and Mrs. Ernest j Hinegardner, all of Harrisonburg, I Mrs. Charles Chandler of Dayton, Va. and Mrs. Harry M. Chandler of Hillsboro, 111.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Cox was the son of the late James A. Cox and Dorothy E. Landis Cox, both natives of Rockingham County. He was a retired electrical contractor, and a veteran of World War I. Mr. Cox was a member of Washington Masonic Lodge No. 78, AF&AM, and a member and deacon of Washington Baptist Church.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Washington Baptist Church with the Rev. William Harrison of Sperryville officiating. Interment was in Washington Masonic Cemetery with Masonic rites.
Clore Funeral Home, Culpeper, was in charge of arrangements.
