Cooke
A funeral service for Benjamin Franklin Cooke of Amissville was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Episcopal Church, Washington, Va., with the Rev. Charles F. Glaenzer officiating. Interment was in Washington Masonic Cemetery.
Mr. Cooke, 68, a retired solicitor and salesman for Fauquier Laundry in Warrenton, died Monday, March 10, 1969 at Winchester Memorial Hospital.
He was a native of Fauquier County, son of the late Benjamin and Mary Frances Hanback Cooke.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Annie Atkins Cooke of Amissville; two sons, Franklin D. Cooke and Robert P. Cooke, both of Richmond; three grandchildren; two brothers, John Cooke and Lewis Cooke, both of Richmond; and five sisters, Mrs. Sam Lunsford of Warrenton, Mrs. S. H. Gregory, Mrs. John Milton, Mrs. George McDaniel and Mrs. Agnes George, all of Richmond.
Serving as pallbearers were John Habel, Wallace Russell, Allen Lunsford, Nelson Noland, T. C. Lea, Jr., Stanish Riley, Ray Williams and Herman Lunsford. Geest funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
