Squad Organized
An organizational meeting for a Sperryville Rescue Squad was held Tuesday night and officers! were elected for the organization, j They are: President, Donald Gore; 1st vice president, Gid Clater; 2nd vice president, Clifton Jenkins; sergeants, Billy Dodson and Thomas Atkins; secretary, Wilson Burke; treasurer, Charles Sisk and chaplain, the Rev. William Harrison. Directors named were R. P. Anderson, John Walker Jenkins and Wilson Atkins.
The beginning projects of the rescue squad group will include a fund raising campaign and a first aid course. The squad will be set up to serve the west portions of the county, areas of Sperryville, Woodville, Peola Mills and Slate Mills regularly, and will be ivailable when necessary for any emergency wherever needed.
Donations of money will be solicited from the public and anyone who wishes to contribute may do so by sending a check or cash to the treasurer, Charles Sisk. Contributions are always tax deducible.
