and go through eleven step^to a maximum of $7,600. O. A. Norton, Superintendent of Schools here, stated he was a month later than usual in beginning to recruit teachers for 1969-70 school year. Mr. Norton also stated that the school budget for 1969-70 will require $64,000 more than the budget for the year now in progress.
Ways and means of broadening the tax base of the county were discussed with several thoughts voiced on the subject by interested individuals attending the meeting. Among those were a county tax on beer and wines and a head tax of $10 per person. However, the legality of such would have to be investigated and ascertained and proper legislation instituted before such could take place. Some officials of the county had petitioned the Board and the State Compensation Commission
