Regional Programs (of which Virginia is one of 55) are to be controlled, planned and implemented locally.
Mrs. Schmidt, who attended South Hill High School in Pittsburg and the University of Pittsburg, served from January 1969 to the present as Administrative Assistant to the District of Columbia Tuberculosis and Respiratory Disease Association. Before that, she was Executive Director of the Arlington County Unit, American Cancer Society, for twelve years.
Prior to joining the Cancer Society Unit, Mrs. Schmidt worked for the Arlington County School Administration and Pittsburg Public Schools. She and her husband, Norman G. Schmidt, are the parents of three married children, one son and two daughters.
