Beth O’Bannon of Woodville was named “Miss Rappahannock” at the Jaycee sponsored beauty pageant held Friday night. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Maurice O’Bannon and a senior at Rappahannock County High School. Beth received her tiara from the outgoing titleholder, Darlene Woodward of Castleton, and was presented a cash prize of $100. Since she has applied and been accepted as a student next year at the College of William and Mary, she was awarded an additional $150 scholarship.
Runners-up were Carter Moffett of Washington, daughter of Judge and Mrs. W. F. Moffett, Jr. and Janet Hackley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Hackley, Amissville. In this group Barbara Atkins was named “Mias Congeniality” by her fellow contestants.
Dropping back to the first group of youngsters, ages 4 through 7 years, this class was won by Phoebe Pierson, first;
