for Attorney General
I am a candidate for Attorney General because as a former prosecuting attorney and a school board attorney, I am concerned about the growing lack of respect for law, particularly among some of our young people. I believe that if there are those on our college campuses whose purpose it is to disrupt education, they should not be permitted to remain and if they violate the law, they should be prosecuted the same as anyone else who violates the law. No one is above the law. Law and order should be coupled with Justice, but we should be thinking about Justice for the taxpayers who pay for our educational institutions, for the responsible young people who are there to gain an education and Justice for the responsible teachers who are there to give them an education. As a member of the General Assembly for three terms and as a former municipal judge, I am also deeply concerned about law enforcement Instead of talking about police brutality, we should be talking about criminal brutality and instead of being so concerned about making convicts more comfortable, we should be concerned about the plight of the law enforcement officer who often finds himself in more difficulty in making an arrest, than the ciiminal he is apprehending The time has come for the silent majority to speak out. The time has come to take the handcuffs off the police and put them on the criminal. As your Attorney General, I will put my experience to work for you to build better police community relationships, to .lOStiJI r.espect for jaw,and to.yvork.for law and order in our state.
