equipment, and the other usual parade attractions. On Friday night a 700-lb. purebred registered black angus heifer and a set of china will be awarded. The carnival will draw to a climax on Saturday night with the awarding of the grand prize, a 1969 Plymouth, as well as three cash prizes and a power lawn mower. On display every night in the fire hall will be the Virginia Department of Highways electrically operated State Fair Exhibit and the Virginia Game and Wildlife exhibit. There will be plenty of games, rides and food every night on the brilliantly illuminated midway.
Washington Methodist Plans Revival
Revival services will be held at the Washington United Methodist Church from August 10 to 15. Services will begin each night at 8 p.m. and special music will be provided. The Rev. Jerry Campbell will be the speaker for the services.
Wool Sewing Contest
Imagine a two week vacation in the fun and fashion capital of Europe. That’s the grand prize in the 1969-70 Make It Yourself With Wool Competition.
To enter Make It Yourself With Wool, a girl must make a 100% wool suit, coat, dress or pants outfit from fabric loomed or knitted in the United States. She must model her own garment before judges and appear in a Fashion Show at the District program. The competition is open to all girls regardless of race, creed, or color, who fall between the ages of 14 and 21, single or married. For more information, contact Miss Judy B.
