Vespers Speaker
Much interest is focused on next Sunday’s Sunset Vesper Service when the speaker will be the Rev. Dr. Raymond Shaheen of Silver Spring, Maryland, member of the Executive Council of the Lutheran Church in America, world traveler, author, and preacher for religion in Life Week Conferences on college campuses.
The service will be preceded by a carillon recital by Charles T. Chapman at 7:30 p.m., with the vesper service immediately following at 8:00 p.m. Leader for the service will be the Rev. Dr. M. J. White, and the Assistant Leader will be the Rev. Dr. Russell Crouse. The choir will be from the First Baptist Church of Clarendon, Arlington, Virginia, under the direction of Paul M. Hall.
The Sunset Vespers Association cordially invites the public to hear a challenging message Sunday evening August 3 by a speaker of wide reputation and to enjoy the music on the carillon and special music by one of the fine choirs of the greater Washington area.
Carillon recital: 7:30 p.m.
Vesper service: 8:00 p.m.
