The Flint Hill Firemen’s Carnival came to a climax on Saturday night when Tom Weible of Fredericksburg was awarded the grand prize of a 1969 Plymouth. Mrs. Pauline Bruce of Sperryville received a cash prize of $7 5; Fred Schaeffer of Cassanova received $50, and Levi Atkins, Jr. of Amissville was awarded $25. Cleveland Menefee of Sperryville was the recipient of the power lawn mower.
Friday night prize winners included Mrs. Addie Wines of Chester Gap, who received the 700-lb. purebred registered black angus heifer; B. F. Settle of Warrenton, who was awarded a fcomplete set of china; and Ray ^tSlicholson of Flint Hill who '■‘received a set of crystal.
Thursday night was highlighted by a grand parade featuring “Mias American Teen-Ager”, Buddy Allen, “Miss Virginia”, and “Mias Shenandoah Apple-Blossom”. Parade winners were as follows: Best appearing fire company (towns over 500 population)first, Warrenton; second, Yorkshire.
