John T. Hitt
Johnny Turner Hitt of Viewtown, 71, died Wednesday, July 30, 1969, at Western State Hospital where he was a patient for the past two years.
He was a retired fanner and the son of the late John Hitt and the late Sophia Settle Hitt of Rappahannock County.
He is survived by his wife, the "ormer Rosie Nettie Smith of Viewtown; two sons, Richard Edward Hitt of Viewtown and Elmer Lee Hitt of Culpeper; a brother, Milton Garnett Hitt of Amissville; three sisters, Mrs. Booten Priest and Mrs. Clifton Green of Amissville and Mrs. Claude Green of Warrenton, and five grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Geest * Funeral Chapel with the Rev. * John Gaberth officiating.' Interment was in the Hillcrest Memory Gardens. Pallbearers were Charlie Priest, * Wallace Stover, Lloyd Bywaters,( Warren Smith, John J. Kendall, 1 Clifford Cook, Harry Bywaters and Ellis Smith.
