Irish Soda Bread 1 loaf 3 cups sifted enriched self-rising flour 2 tablespoons sugar / teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon caraway seed 1 Zz cups milk Yz cup melted shortening or oil Z, cup seedless raisins Sift together Hour, sugar and baking soda into mixing bowl. Stir in caraway seed. Combine milk, shortening or oil and raisins. Add liquid all at once to flour mixture stirring only until flour is moistened. Turn into greased l1- x 8'- inch loaf pan. Dake in preheated 100 ovgn 40 to 45 minutes, or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Immediately remove from pan and cool on wire rack. Serve warm or cool.
