Page Moffett, son of Judge and Mrs. William F. Moffett of Washington, Va. was graduated from the University of Virginia on Sunday, June 7, with high distinction. At ceremonies on Saturday, June 6, he was commissioned an ensign in the U. S. Navy.
During his four years at the University Page was a member of the Jefferson Society, Phi Eta Sigma (First Year Honor Society, Intermediate Honors, Phi Beta Kappa, Trident Society (Naval Honor Society) and Delta Upsilon social fraternity.
On June 15 Ensign Moffett will report to Newport, Rhode Island where he will attend Communications School for 13 weeks, after which he will be assigned to active naval duty for 4 years.

Young girls interested in becoming candidates for Queen of , the Sperryville Firemen’s Carnival and acting honorary fire chief in connection with the annual carnival scheduled during July should contact Donald Gore or John Eubank. Girls between 12 and 21 years of age are eligible to participate.
Bible School at Sperryville Methodist
Vacation Bible School at Sperryville Methodist Church will be held June 22 through June 26 from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m.
All children under 12 are welcome to attend.
Themes for each group are as follows: Kindergarten; God’s Plan for Happy Families; Primary: Living in a World of Differences; Junior: Christians and Conflict.
It will be under the supervision of J.R. Devers and the Rev. Jerry Campbell. Transportion will be provided upon request.
