Airman First Class Robert E. Armstrong, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward B. Armstrong, Amissville, Va., has been named Outstanding Airman of the Month in his unit at Pope AFB, N. C.
Airman Armstrong, a site development specialist, was selected for his exemplary conduct and duty performance. The airman is assigned to the 464th Tactical Airlift Wing, a unit of the Tactical Air Command which provides combat units for air support of U.S. ground forces. He graduated in 1964 from Culpeper County High School and received his B.S. degree in civil engineering in 1968 from Virginia Polytechnic Institute. His wife, the former L. Christina Raab, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. David Raab, 1457 Waggaman Circle, McLean.
