Carillon Recitals of the Luray c Singing Tower began at 8 p.m. * when the season opened Tuesday, June 2nd. : Forty-five minute recitals by Charles Chapman, Carlllonneur 1 are given each Tuesday, jThursday, Saturday, and Sunday ] and will continue at this hour ;• through September 29th, with the exception of Sundays during July and August.
At that time, the Sunday programs will consist of a short { carillon recital beginning approximately three-quarters of an hour before sunset and followed immediately by a nondenominationai Sunset Vesper Service sponsored by the Vesper Service Association. These Vespers, held on the Tower lawn present speakers of 'national reputation, music on the Carillon and special music by soloists and groups. The music, the challenging messages and the rare beauty of the setting combine to produce a unique and elevating hour.
From October 1st through November 15th, recitals will be at 3 p.m.
The public is invited to attend all recitals of the Luray Singing Tower and ample parking is provided without charge.
