Nominate Williams
Murat W. Williams received the nomination of Seventh District Democrats as their candidate foi Congress in the fall. He waf unanimously elected by the party at its convention held Saturday in Staunton. Delegates from Rappahannock attending the convention were Mrs. George H. Davis, Jr., Miss Helen Fuller, Mrs. E. A. Harris, Mrs. Leslie Ungar, and Edward Bailey. Mr. Williams is a farmer in Madison County and is well versed in government. He is a former diplomat and in 1968 headed McCarthy’s campaign in Virginia for president. One observer remarked following the convention that it was rewarding to note the old party members and the newer factions meshing to strengthen Democratic efforts here.
Summer School
Summer School ai Rappahannock County High School will begin June 15 anc continue through August 7. Oim course will be given in Eleventh grade U. S. History for new students and repeaters. Clast hours are 8 a.m. until 12 noor five days per week. One credii can be earned and Richard L Neff is instructor.
No charge is made to student of Rappahannock except a fee o; $3 for materials.
