Pvt. Steven D. Alther has returned to duty with the U. S. Army in Texas after spending a 14-day leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Alther of Sperryville. Pvt. Alther completed his basic training at Fort Campbell, Ky. and left Friday for Fort Sam Houston, .Texas. His new address is: Pvt. Steven D. Alther, 225-68-1300 Class 290, Co. Bridge Group Meets at Spring House Farm

Mrs. Harry Lee Smith entertained the Washington Bridge Club and guests Thursday evening at her home Spring House Farm. Playing were Mrs. L. J. Turner, Mrs. George H. Davis, Jr., Mrs. C. B. Palmer, Mrs. Henry M. Keyser, Mrs. Frank W. Spalding, Mrs. G. W. Smith, Jr., Mrs. E. M. Jones, Mrs. Edmo D. Flynt, Mrs. W. H. Massie, Jr., Mrs. T. C. Lea, Mrs. John R. DeBergh and Mrs. E. W. Raley. Prizes were won by Mrs. Spalding, Mrs. Turner, Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Smith.
