Business was routine though lengthy at the regular meeting of the Rappahannock Board of Supervisors held Friday at Washington. Three animal claims totaling $50.75 were filed by Dog Warden Jack Bruce and were honored. Resident Highway Engineer James K. Skeens reported generally on roads and improvements. Poes Road, Route 637 west of Amissville is undergoing extensive improvements and the by-pass around the Town of Washington is running ahead of schedule, he said. Plans are in the making for a bridge at Keysville. Planning Commission Chairman L. B. Stuart reported a conference with the Blue Bell Company concerning a location in Rappahannock County. He reported the company was interested in setting up a pilot plant here, leasing space rather than building at present. A labor survey would be made to find if the necessary labor is available and Mr. Stuart had suggested the Amissville area as a possible locality to them. He felt it should be kept in the opposite direction from the already established Rappahannock Manufacturing plant.

Capt. Stuart reported that the Planning Commission did not think it necessary at present to establish an Industrial Commission. He also tendered his resignation from the Planning Commission which was regrettably accepted. H. S Barksdale and A, Y. Stokes wen reappointed.

An ordinance was adopted fo 60 days regulating assemblies an< movement of parsons. This ha< been proposed^ it r> forme meeting.

The Sheriff was authorized t purchase a new stove for the ja and uniforms for prisoners wer approved.

It was reported that termites i the Extension Agent’s buildin had been treated and would b checked periodically.

Approval was voiced for th firm of Daniel A. Robinson an Associates to be secured to do th county audit.
