Crumpton, social security district manager. “In this generally healthy and youthful group, nearly 2 Vi‘million people receive benefits because they are disabled or are dependent upon disabled workers. Over 3 million widowed mothers and young children get monthly sal security checks as survivors of workers,” she stated. “Half a million students age 18 to 22 and a quarter of a million people who became disabled in childhood get monthly benefits as the children of retired, deceased, of disabled workers,” Mrs. Crumpton went on. “Disabled children get social security benefits as long as they are not able to work.” Who are they?
