maintain proper and healthy public relations for ourselves and Roarin’ Rock.

As you know, Mrs. Pawley and I have welcomed Rappahannock friends and neighbors for years to share in the outdoor joys of our river paradise of Nature, along withthe fishing and the swimming. We do insist on knowing at all times who is on the place, our property. We feel that this is not too much to ask, considering the unruly uncertainty of life today, and it really is a protection for visitors themselves.

Sarah, we are just plain tired of cleaning up the trash and the garbage and the beer cans of un-thinking tresspassers. We are hoping that this letter might help us to count on the co-operation if all true lovers of the beauty ind the folk tradition of Roarin’ Hock, those who regard it as a acred place in our Virginia Country Heritage and who ippreciate participation in its lelights enough to help us keep it ;hat-o-way. Nobody likes KEEP XfT signs,*--BUT—! n

Sincere High Regards,

Edward Pawley
