Carnival Next Week
Amissville firemen and auxiliary members are completing plans and making preparations for the annual carnival scheduled for Wednesday through Saturday, August 19-22. Activities arranged include the parade on Thursday night, crowning of a queen Friday night who acts as honorary fire chief for a year and the awarding of prizes on Saturday night which concludes the festivities.
The usual assortment of games and concessions, a big midway with a variety of rides, good food and numerous prizes will be featured.
A cash prize of $50 will be given on Wednesday night and it will be necessary to be present to win.
