Fire Takes All Blake
Family Possessions
Mr. and Mrs. Granville Blake of Route 1, Castleton lost all of their possessions when the house in which they lived was completely destroyed by fire Tuesday afternoon. Origin of the blaze which leveled a tenant house belonging to Alpheus Cannon was not immediately known. Mrs. Blake is an invalid and was rescued from the smoke and flames by an out-of-state visitor, Newton Dennis, who saw the fire as he entered the store at Scrabble. Also assisted to safety was a small child. All furniture and clothing belonging to the family was lost. Any and all contributions of food, furniture, clothing or cash could be very well used by this family which is composed of four children in addition to the parents. Mr. Blake wears size 32-31 pants, 14Vi shirt, lOVi socks and 8Vi shoes; Mrs. Blake wears size 14 or 16 dress, 5Vi shoe, and with her impediment needs a robe size 14 or 16. She is in a wheel chair. The children are Betty who is H and wears a junior dress size 5 and 4Vi shoes; Joe, 11, is wearing a 1C shirt and pants and 4Vi or 5 shoe; Jimmy, age 6 could use size 5 or C clothing and 10 shoes; and Marian is 3 years old and wears size 5.
