Looking back over the first six weeks of school we see a lot of great things happening. Probably the best and most exciting news is the success of our new track team which has a 4-0 score so far this season. Charles Thomas, John Summers and Tom Taylor lead the group. As someone said, “Those mountain boys should be good for something!”
Mr. Ellis has organized some afternoon recreation for any of the boys who wish to stay after school and play basketball or other sports. Check the schedule and take advantage of the activity. The magazine campaign ended last Monday with a grand total of $1885.55 A “Mighty Senior,” Debbie Barron won the grand prize in the Mystery Drawing, a black light and poster. Other prizes like candy, patches, stuffed animals, mascots and posters were given away. The Student Cooperative Association wishes to thank all of those who sold magazines and especially those who bought magazines. Several classes have met and selected officers for the year.
