Barksdale, right, was named the 1971 Outstanding Conservation Farmer of the Year in Rappahannock and was presented a certificate by H. L. Manwaring with Mrs. Manwaring The presentation was made last Thursday evening at the annual Soil Conservation District banquet and meeting at Graves Lodge, Syria. Mr. Barksdale farms 950 acres in the Flint Hill area. Mr. Manwaring, of Woodville, is Soil Conservation District Supervisor.
