Operator Fined
J. Francis Tinsman, operator of the Leesburg Livestock Market, a posted stockyard at Leesburg, has been fined $500 and enjoined by a Federal Court from violating reporting requirements of the Packers and Stockyards Act, the U. S. Department of Agriculture said today. j The U. S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, Alexandria Division, enjoined Mr. Tinsman, as long as he remains subject to the Act, from failing to file any annual or special reports required by the Secretary of Agriculture under the Packers and Stockyards Act.
Mr. Tinsman has since filed the required report.
The P&S Act a fair trade practices law. It promotes and maintains fair and open competition in the marketing of livestock, poultry and meat. The Act is administered on a nondiscriminatory basis.
