Council members who qualified for the election are Mrs. Christine Johnston, Mrs. Virginia Miller, Mrs. Dorothy Hawkins, Mrs. Edna Wayland, Mrs. Bertha Armel and Kermit Weakley. The five ladies are seeking reelection to the council with Mr. Weakley a new candidate. Mrs. Miller has served as treasurer of the town for a number of years and Mrs. Dorothy Hawkins was one of the ladies who sat on the original all-woman council in 1950.
